Alpha Novatech has always lead the way in introducing new high performance cooling technology for new CPU types - and the
PAL 8150 continues this noble tradition! The PAL8150 heat sink is designed for use with AMD Opteron and
Athlon 64FX/64 processors. As with their previous efforts, the 'sink is produced using Alpha's MicroForging® process,
which produces a solid, one-piece heat sink forged from aluminum and copper (a hybrid 'sink). The embedded copper base provides
enhanced cooling performance.
The PAL8150 requires some assembly (and your choice of 80mm fan) before you can use it. The 'sink mounts
through the two holes surrounding the ZIF Socket on socket 940/754 motherboards.
Two spring-loaded shoulder screws will secure the heat sink to the backing plate,
which is then attached to the back of the motherboard. The heatsink does not come with an 80mm fan - allowing you to
select from over 35+ different 80mm
fans that we stock here at Plycon.
